Peer Mentor Program

Virtual Conference

The PSU NSSLHA Peer Mentor Program was established to pair returning SPHR students with recently enrolled students in the Speech and Hearing Sciences department. The returning students provide mentoring in the areas of academics and social networking to build community in the Speech and Hearing Sciences Program at Portland State University.

What you'll do

Mentors:

  • Provide social networking, academic support, and support in various professional and personal areas as needed

  • Meet minimum of once a month with your mentee

  • Foster leadership and community building skills while gaining an SPHR friend!

  • You are eligible to be a mentor if you have been in the SPHR department 3 terms or more

Mentees:

  • Receive support navigating the SPHR department from academics, student groups, building your resume, and more!

  • Meet minimum of once a month with your mentor

  • Foster communication skills, social networking, and community building skills

  • You are eligible to be a mentee if you have been in the SPHR department 2 terms or less
